Just a quick note from the road. I’m up in the D.C. area for a business meeting tomorrow, but I lugged along my camera gear because this place is full of wonderful scenery. Well, usually. I think. Today, it’s cold, overcast and raining.
I decided to duck out of the rain and visit the Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center, which is part of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Basically, it’s full of cool crap that goes to infinity and beyond. I nearly filled up a 16 GB CF card shooting in there. Lighting conditions are low and challenging, to say the least. While it’s nice that my Nikon D700 does incredibly well at reducing noise in high ISO, it’s still not my comfort area. In a few places, I whipped out my SB-800 flash and dropped down the ISO for a better shot.
I’ve hardly had a chance to review my images, having just downloaded them to my computer, but I thought I’d at least process one of them to give a taste of what I saw there. Here’s a simple dead-on forward shot of the Space Shuttle Enterprise.
