The Dark Side of Sam

I really enjoy taking portraits, but I don't do it often enough. That's probably why I like to do a number of different types of portraits when I get a model.  I've shot with Sam a few times now. Our most recent shoot was at a friend's studio.  She came prepared with a few different outfits and we came with some different lighting setups to try out. That gives her a few different shots for her book, not to mention different perspectives from a couple of photographers.

Most of the time, I'm too much in love with color to go for a black & white shot. This shot wasn't any different, but I decided to try it in Silver Efex Pro on a whim.  Boy, that was a mistake. I kept switching between the color version and this black & white version.  Indecision is a terrible thing.  Obviously, this version won the debate in my head – mostly because I love the change of tones in the image. I've given in to the dark side.

Photography – it kills your brain cells.
